If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I cannot save myself. Forgive me for the pride, excess, and self-centered living in my heart. Come to the King Who Saves

Lord, where your people have become impressed with status, comfort, and display, wake us up. Strip away our love of show and excess, and make us a humble, grateful people who honor you in every gathering. Revive your Church to celebrate with clean hearts and sober joy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People from Pride

Father, thank you for the good things you provide and for the joy of sharing meals and celebrations. Teach me to receive your gifts with gratitude, not greed, and to enjoy them without turning them into a performance, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Every Gift

Lord, I confess that I am tempted to use what I have to look important. Forgive me for the times I make gatherings, possessions, or attention center on myself. Give me a humble heart that does not need to be seen, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Confess the Need to Impress

Pray by naming the setting you are about to enter, asking God for humility, gratitude, and restraint, and choosing one practical way to keep the focus off yourself and on others.

Pray Before a Meal or Gathering

Bring before God any leaders, hosts, or public figures you know; ask that their use of influence would be marked by humility rather than display, and that the people around them would be helped rather than impressed.
