Reserve your deepest praise for God rather than for wealth, success, or crafted things.

Keep honoring impressive things as long as you still attend worship.

Limit idolatry to statues, but let money and approval direct your heart.

Treat everything the same and never question what you admire most.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have given my praise to things that cannot save me, and I need your mercy. I admit my sin and turn from it now. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to lead my life. Teach me to worship the Father alone and follow you with all my heart. Amen.

Come Back to the Living God

Lord, revive your Church where our praise has drifted toward money, success, comfort, and other substitutes. Turn our hearts back to you, expose every false god among us, and make us a people who honor you above all created things, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Worship

Father, forgive me for the times I have admired what is temporary more than I have honored you. I turn away from misplaced praise and ask you to cleanse my heart. Give me a single-minded love for you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turn My Heart From Idols

Bring these to God: his worth above every created thing; gratitude for good gifts without worshiping them; a desire to praise the living God rather than what people make.

You Alone Are Worthy

How to pray: name one thing that has been getting too much of your admiration, thank God for any good in it, then ask him to keep it in its proper place and restore your praise to him.

Re-center Your Praise

Pray for someone caught up in money, status, pleasure, or another substitute god; ask God to open their eyes, loosen their grip, and draw them toward true worship.

Pray for the Ensnared
