It grew so strong that it reached the forces of heaven, brought some of them down, and trampled them.

It grew strong, but the verse says nothing about anyone above being harmed.

It grew strong and reached heaven, but the beings there were left untouched.

It became large on earth, then stopped before any conflict began.

Use your influence to protect the vulnerable and refuse to join in crushing them.

Let stronger people set the tone, even when someone is being hurt.

Stay quiet so you are not involved, and let events take their course.

Use pressure whenever you think it will get results.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess my sin, my pride, and the ways I have used strength badly or hurt others. I turn from my sin and from ruling my own life. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, be my Lord and Savior, and make me new. Teach me to follow you with a humble heart. Amen.

Receive the Lord of True Strength

Lord, awaken your Church where we have chased power instead of holiness. Break our pride, expose every desire to dominate, and make us a people who protect the weak rather than trample them. Fill us with reverence, mercy, and humble strength, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church with Humble Strength

Father, protect those who are being crushed by powerful people, unfair systems, or harsh words. Lift up those who have been knocked down, defend the overlooked, and bring justice where strength has been abused, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Protection for the Vulnerable

Name one area where you have influence. Ask God to show you whether it is being used to help or to harm, then ask for a humble way to use it today.

Pray About the Power You Carry

Pray for leaders, managers, teachers, parents, and anyone with authority: that they would resist pride, protect the vulnerable, and use strength to serve rather than to trample.

Prayer for Leaders and Decision-Makers

Bring these to God: any desire to dominate, any fear that makes you harsh, and any place where you need a quieter, stronger kind of courage. Ask him to shape your strength into compassion and restraint.

A Gentler Way of Strength
