He stood calmly and asked for more details

He walked away before hearing the message

He argued with the speaker about the vision

Treat it as a puzzle and ignore the impact on your life

Rush to make claims that go beyond what was said

Assume fear means the message is not for you

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and from pride, and I receive you as my Lord and Savior. Teach me to listen, to trust, and to follow you. Amen.

Receive Jesus as Lord

Lord, revive your Church so we come near to your word with reverence instead of pride. Where we have rushed past your voice or tried to control what you reveal, bring us low, wake us up, and make us teachable again. Give us hearts that listen, understand, and obey, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your People Teachable Again

Father, when your truth makes me tremble, stay close to me. Help me not to shut down or turn away, but to receive what you want to show me with a humble heart. Hold me steady in awe and lead me into understanding, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace for the Trembling Heart

Pray over one passage or situation that feels difficult: ask God what he is showing you, where you need humility, and what one step of obedience fits what you have heard. Then wait quietly before you rush to answer.

Ask for Understanding

Bring thanks for God's word that both warns and teaches. Thank him for not leaving you in confusion, for revealing truth in due time, and for patient correction that leads to understanding.

Thankful for a Word That Leads

Pray for pastors, Bible teachers, and small groups: that they would handle God's message carefully, help people understand what is hard, and avoid shallow speculation about the future. Ask God to make his people attentive, reverent, and steady.
