Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Deuteronomy 12:21:1 ⧉כִּי־יִרְחַקkiyirkhakIf is distant Deuteronomy 12:21:2 ⧉מִמְּךָ֣mimkhafrom you Deuteronomy 12:21:3 ⧉הַמָּק֗וֹםhammakomthe place Deuteronomy 12:21:4 ⧉אֲשֶׁ֨רasherwhich Deuteronomy 12:21:5 ⧉יִבְחַ֤רyivkharwill choose Deuteronomy 12:21:6 ⧉יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָyahweh elohekhathe LORD your God Deuteronomy 12:21:7 ⧉לָשׂ֥וּםlasumto set Deuteronomy 12:21:8 ⧉שְׁמוֹ־שָׁ֖םshmoshamhis name there Deuteronomy 12:21:9 ⧉וְזָבַ֣חְתָּ מִבְּקָרְךָ֗vezavakhta mibekarkhathen you may slaughter from your herd Deuteronomy 12:21:10 ⧉וּמִצֹּאנְךָ֛umitssonkhaand from your flock Deuteronomy 12:21:11 ⧉אֲשֶׁר֩ נָתַ֨ן יְהוָ֧ה לְךָ֛asher natan yahweh lekhawhich the LORD has given you Deuteronomy 12:21:12 ⧉כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר צִוִּיתִ֑ךָkaasher tsivitikhaas I have commanded you Deuteronomy 12:21:13 ⧉וְאָכַלְתָּ֥veakhaltaand you may eat Deuteronomy 12:21:14 ⧉בְּשָׁעָרֶֽיךָbeshaarekhawithin your gates Deuteronomy 12:21:15 ⧉בְּכֹל֙ אֲוַ֣ת נַפְשְׁךָ֔bekhol avat nafshekhawhatever your soul desires Deuteronomy 12:21:16 ⧉נָפֶשׁ֑ךָ׃nafeshkhayour soul |
21. Formal Translation If the place which the LORD your God {Yahweh Elohekha, Sanctuary Chooser} chooses to set His name there is too far from you, then you may slaughter from your cattle and from your flock that the LORD has given you, just as I have commanded you, and you may eat in your gates according to all the desire of your soul. |
21. Dynamic Translation If the place where the LORD your God {Yahweh Elohekha, Sustaining Provider} chooses to set His name is a long distance from you, you may butcher some of your cattle and flock that the LORD has given you, just as I have told you, and eat in your own towns whenever you truly long for it. |
