22. Formal Translation
When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Lawgiver} and the matter does not come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not fear him.
22. Dynamic Translation
If a prophet claims to speak in the LORD’s {Yahweh, Unfailing Witness} name, but what he says does not come to pass or prove true, that is a message the LORD did not speak. That prophet has acted presumptuously, so do not be alarmed by him.
