Exegesis
This verse presents a compound legal mandate, opening with vehotsetem {וְהוֹצֵאתֶם | vǝ-hō-ṣḗ-tem} ‘and you shall bring out’ (Hiphil perfect), followed by uskaltem {וּסְקַלְתֶּם | û-sə-ḵal-têm} ‘and you shall stone’ (Qal perfect), and vamētu {וָמֵתוּ | wā-mê-tû} ‘and they shall die’ (Qal perfect).
In context — Deuteronomy 22:24
And you shall bring out the two of them to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones so that they die—the young woman on account of the matter that she did not cry out in the city, and the man on account of the matter that he violated the wife of his neighbor. And you shall purge the evil from your midst.
