The final ritual-judicial formula, uviarata hara miqqirbekha {וּבִעַרְתָּ הָרָע מִקִּרְבְּךָ | û-vi-ʿar-tā hā-rāʿ mî-qir-bə-kā} ‘and you shall purge the evil from your midst,’ recurs throughout Deuteronomic law.
