Esther 7:4:2נִמְכַּ֙רְנוּ֙nimkarnuwe have been sold Esther 7:4:3אֲנִ֣יaniI Esther 7:4:4וְעַמִּ֔יveamiand my people Esther 7:4:5לְהַשְׁמִ֖ידlehashmidto destroy Esther 7:4:6לַהֲר֣וֹגlaharogto kill Esther 7:4:7וּלְאַבֵּ֑דuleabedand to annihilate Esther 7:4:8וְ֠אִלּוּveiluand if Esther 7:4:9לַעֲבָדִ֨יםlaavadimas slaves Esther 7:4:10וְלִשְׁפָח֤וֹתvelishfakhotand as slave-women Esther 7:4:11נִמְכַּ֙רְנוּ֙nimkarnuwe would have been sold Esther 7:4:12הֶחֱרַ֔שְׁתִּיhekherashtiI would have kept silent Esther 7:4:13כִּ֣יkifor Esther 7:4:14אֵ֥יןenthere is not Esther 7:4:15הַצָּ֛רhatsarthe adversary Esther 7:4:16שֹׁוֶ֖הshoveequal Esther 7:4:17בְּנֵ֥זֶקbenezekin damage or in harm Esther 7:4:18הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃סhamelekhthe king
4. Formal Translation
For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. And if we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have remained silent, for the adversary is not worthy of the king’s damage.
4. Dynamic Translation
My people and I have been sold to be wiped out, killed, and exterminated. If we had only been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, since the adversary is not worth the king’s trouble.
