Two successive Niphal perfect verbs, neʿermu {נֶ֣עֶרְמוּ | nə-ʿer-mū} “they-were-heaped-up” and nitsvu {נִצְּב֥וּ | nits-vu} “they-stood,” present the accumulation and standstill of the waters.
