| 3. Formal Translation But the people were thirsty for water there, and they complained against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up from Egypt, to cause us and our children and our livestock to die from thirst?” |
| 3. Dynamic Translation The people were suffering for lack of water, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt, only to let us, our children, and our animals die of thirst?” |
