Exodus 21:8:1אִם־רָעָ֞הimraahif not pleasing
Exodus 21:8:2בְּעֵינֵ֧יbeeneiin the eyes of Exodus 21:8:3אֲדֹנֶ֛יהָadonehaher master Exodus 21:8:4אֲשֶׁר־לֹ֥וasherlowho for himself Exodus 21:8:5יְעָדָ֖הּyeadahdesignated her Exodus 21:8:6וְהֶפְדָּ֑הּvehefdahlet her be redeemed Exodus 21:8:7לְעַםleamto a people Exodus 21:8:8נָכְרִ֗יnokhriforeign Exodus 21:8:9לֹא־יִמְשֹׁ֥לloyimsholhave no authority Exodus 21:8:10לְמָכְרָ֖הּlemokhrahto sell her Exodus 21:8:11בְּבִגְדוֹ־בָֽהּ׃bevigdovahin dealing treacherously with her
8. Formal Translation
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who has designated her for himself, then he must let her be redeemed. He must not have authority to sell her to a foreign people, since he has acted treacherously against her.
8. Dynamic Translation
If her master is not pleased with her, though he had set her apart for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He must not sell her to foreigners because he has betrayed her trust.
