Exodus 22:11:2יְהוָ֗הyahwehLORD Exodus 22:11:3תִּהְיֶה֙tihyehshall be Exodus 22:11:4בֵּ֣יןbeinbetween Exodus 22:11:5שְׁנֵיהֶ֔םsheneihemboth of them Exodus 22:11:6אִם־לֹֽאimloif not Exodus 22:11:7שָׁלַ֣חshalakhhe has laid Exodus 22:11:8יָד֗וֹyadohis hand Exodus 22:11:9בִּמְלֶ֨אכֶתbimlekheton the property of Exodus 22:11:10רֵעֵ֑הוּrehehhoohis neighbor Exodus 22:11:11וְלָקַ֥חvelakakh{And he} shall accept Exodus 22:11:12בְּעָלָ֖יוbealavits owner Exodus 22:11:13וְלֹ֥אveloand not Exodus 22:11:14יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃yeshalemhe shall make restitution
11. Formal Translation
The oath of the LORD {Yahweh, Ultimate Judge} shall be between the two of them: if he has not stretched out his hand in the property of his companion, then its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.
11. Dynamic Translation
The LORD’s {Yahweh, Righteous Arbiter} oath settles the matter between them: if the neighbor did not lay a hand on his companion’s property, the owner must accept it and no payment is required.
