18. Formal Translation And you shall say, “Thus says the Lord GOD {Adonai Yahweh, Sovereign Judge}: Woe to the women who sew coverings upon all wrists and make veils upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people and keep souls alive for yourselves?” |
18. Dynamic Translation Then tell them, “This is what the Lord GOD {Adonai Yahweh, Supreme Authority} declares: Woe to those women who sew magic charms on every wrist and drape veils over every head to ensnare lives! Will you ensnare the lives of my people and save only your own lives?” |
