| 16. Formal Translation Even if these three men were in its midst, as I live, declares the Lord God {Adonai Yahweh, Supreme Judge}, they would not deliver sons or daughters; they alone would be delivered, but the land would become desolate. |
| 16. Dynamic Translation Even if these three men were right there, as surely as I live, says the Lord God {Adonai Yahweh, Ultimate Ruler}, they would not rescue any sons or daughters; only they themselves would escape, but the land would end up completely devastated. |
