Exegesis

The final phrase ve-khidmei banayikh asher natat lahem {וְכִדְמֵי בָנַיִךְ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתְּ לָהֶם | wə-ḵidəmē banayyaḵ ’ăšer nāṯaṯṯ lāhem} ‘and by the blood of your children whom you gave to them’ adds the grief of child sacrifice, underscoring judicial severity.
