Ezekiel 20:22:1וָהֲשִׁבֹ֙תִי֙vahashivotibut I turned back
Ezekiel 20:22:2אֶת־יָדִ֔יetyadimy hand Ezekiel 20:22:3וָאַ֖עַשׂvaaasand I acted Ezekiel 20:22:4לְמַ֣עַןlemaanfor the sake of Ezekiel 20:22:5שְׁמִ֑יshemimy name Ezekiel 20:22:6לְבִלְתִּ֤יleviltiso as not to Ezekiel 20:22:7הֵחֵל֙hekhelbe profaned Ezekiel 20:22:8לְעֵינֵ֣יleenein the eyes of Ezekiel 20:22:9הַגּוֹיִ֔םhagoyimthe nations Ezekiel 20:22:10אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵ֥אתִיasherhotsetiin whose sight I brought out Ezekiel 20:22:11אוֹתָ֖םotamthem Ezekiel 20:22:12לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃leenehemin their eyes
22. Formal Translation
But I {Yahweh, Reputation Guardian} withheld my hand and acted for the sake of my name, in order that it would not be profaned before the eyes of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.
22. Dynamic Translation
However, I {Yahweh, Covenant Upholder} restrained my hand and did this for the sake of my name so that it would not be dishonored in front of the nations, before whose eyes I had led them out.
