20. Formal Translation And when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, and I {Yahweh, Divine Judge} set a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood from your hand. |
20. Dynamic Translation If a good person stops doing what is right and does wrong, and I {Yahweh, Justice Administrator} put an obstacle in his path, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die because of his own sin, and all the right things he has done will be forgotten; I will hold you responsible for his blood. |
