11. Formal Translation And this is what they answered us: “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago; a great king of Israel built it and completed it.” |
11. Dynamic Translation They replied, saying, “We serve the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built long ago. A renowned king of Israel built it and brought it to completion.” |
