12. Formal Translation
Because our fathers angered the God of heaven {Elah Shemaya, Supreme Ruler}, He gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house and exiled the people to Babylon.
12. Dynamic Translation
Since our ancestors provoked the God of heaven {Elah Shemaya, Divine Judge}, He handed them over to Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian king, who destroyed this temple and carried the people away to Babylon.
