21. Formal Translation And from me, I, Artaxerxes the king, issue a decree to all the treasurers who are beyond the river, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven {Elah shemaya, Celestial Ruler} may ask of you, it shall be done diligently. |
21. Dynamic Translation I, King Artaxerxes, hereby decree to all the treasurers on the far side of the river that whatever Ezra the priest and scribe of the Law of the God of heaven {Elah shemaya, Heavenly Patron} asks of you must be executed meticulously. |
