Ezra 9:6:1וָאֹמְרָ֗הvaomreand I said
Ezra 9:6:2אֱלֹהַי֙elohaimy God Ezra 9:6:3בֹּ֣שְׁתִּיboshtiI am ashamed Ezra 9:6:4וְנִכְלַ֔מְתִּיvenikhlamtiand I am humiliated Ezra 9:6:5לְהָרִ֧יםleharimto lift up Ezra 9:6:6אֱלֹהַ֛יelohaimy God Ezra 9:6:7פָּנַ֖יpanaimy face Ezra 9:6:8אֵלֶ֑יךָelekhato you Ezra 9:6:9כִּ֣יkifor Ezra 9:6:10עֲוֺנֹתֵ֤ינוּavonoteinuour iniquities Ezra 9:6:11רָבוּ֙ravuhave become many Ezra 9:6:12לְמַ֣עְלָהlemalaupward Ezra 9:6:13רֹּ֔אשׁroshhead Ezra 9:6:14וְאַשְׁמָתֵ֥נוּveashmateinuand our guilt Ezra 9:6:15גָדְלָ֖הgadlahas grown Ezra 9:6:16עַ֥דadup to Ezra 9:6:17לַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃lashamayimto the heavens
6. Formal Translation
I said, “My God {Elohai, Covenant Judge}, I am ashamed and humiliated even to lift my gaze toward You, my God, for our iniquities tower above our head, and our guilt has swelled to the heavens.”
6. Dynamic Translation
I prayed, “My God {Elohai, Faithful Judge}, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift my eyes to You, my God. Our sins climb above our head, and our guilt reaches the skies.”
