7. Formal Translation From the days of our fathers until this day, our guilt has grown great. Because of our iniquities, we, along with our kings and our priests, were delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands—to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to shame of face, as it is this day. |
7. Dynamic Translation From the days of our ancestors until now, our guilt has been heavy. Because of our sins, we and our kings and our priests have been handed over to the kings of other lands—to death by the sword, to exile, to plunder, and to public disgrace, just as it is today. |
