   for I have known him so that that he will command his sons and his household after him keep the way of LORD to do righteousness and justice so that LORD bring upon Abraham that he spoke concerning him

Exegesis

The subsequent clause with veshamru {וְשָׁמְרוּ | wəšāmərû} “they may keep” then introduces derekh YHWH {דֶּרֶךְ יְהוָה | dereḵ YHWH} “the way of the LORD” as the metaphorical life path, and the infinitive la‘asot {לַעֲשׂוֹת | laʿăśôṯ} expresses means by stating what they do—tsedaqah u-mishpat {צְדָקָה וּמִשְׁפָּט | ṣədāqāh ûmišpāṭ} “righteousness and justice.”
