| 19. Formal Translation For I have known him so that he may command his sons and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Guide}, by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken concerning him. |
| 19. Dynamic Translation For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his sons and his household after him to walk in the way of the LORD, living rightly and acting justly. Then the LORD {Yahweh, Promise Fulfiller} will carry out for Abraham everything He promised about him. |
