| 2. Formal Translation He said, “Please, my lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, stay the night, and wash your feet. Then you may rise early in the morning and go on your way.” But they replied, “No; we will stay the night in the public square.” |
| 2. Dynamic Translation He said, “Please, gentlemen, come into your servant’s house. Stay the night, wash your feet, and then leave early to continue your journey.” But they said, “No, we will sleep out in the town square.” |
