Genesis 25:34:2נָתַ֣ןnatangave Genesis 25:34:3לְעֵשָׂ֗וleesavto Esau Genesis 25:34:4לֶ֚חֶםlekhembread Genesis 25:34:5וּנְזִ֣ידunezidand stew of Genesis 25:34:6עֲדָשִׁ֔יםadashimlentils Genesis 25:34:7וַיֹּ֣אכַלvayokhal{And} he ate Genesis 25:34:8וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּvayesht{And} he drank Genesis 25:34:9וַיָּ֖קָםvayakam{And} he rose Genesis 25:34:10וַיֵּלַ֑ךְvayelakh{And} he went Genesis 25:34:11וַיִּ֥בֶזvayivez{And He} despised Genesis 25:34:12עֵשָׂ֖וesavEsau Genesis 25:34:13אֶת־הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃סethabekhorathe birthright
34. Formal Translation
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; he ate and drank, then he rose and departed. In this way Esau despised the birthright.
34. Dynamic Translation
Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew. Esau ate and drank, stood up, and left—showing that he treated his birthright as nothing.
