1. Formal Translation Now the serpent was more shrewd than any animal of the field that the LORD God {Yahweh Elohim, Sovereign Creator} had made. And he said to the woman, “Is it indeed the case that God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” |
1. Dynamic Translation Of all the wild animals that the LORD God {Yahweh Elohim, Personal Ruler} had made, the serpent was the most cunning. He said to the woman, “Did God really say that you must not eat from any tree in the garden?” |
