Genesis 33:13:1וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvayomerhe said
Genesis 33:13:2אֵלָ֗יוelavto him Genesis 33:13:3אֲדֹנִ֤יadonimy lord Genesis 33:13:4יֹדֵ֙עַ֙yodeaknows Genesis 33:13:5כִּֽי־הַיְלָדִ֣יםkihayeladimthat the children Genesis 33:13:6רַכִּ֔יםrakkimare tender Genesis 33:13:7וְהַצֹּ֥אןvehatsonand the flock Genesis 33:13:8וְהַבָּקָ֖רvehabakarand the cattle Genesis 33:13:9עָל֣וֹתalotare nursing Genesis 33:13:10עָלָ֑יalaiupon me Genesis 33:13:11וּדְפָקוּם֙udefakumare driven hard Genesis 33:13:12י֣וֹםyomday Genesis 33:13:13אֶחָ֔דekhadone Genesis 33:13:14וָמֵ֖תוּvametuwill die Genesis 33:13:15כָּל־הַצֹּֽאן׃kolhatsonall the flock
13. Formal Translation
And he said to him, “My lord knows that the children are vulnerable {rakkim: fragile, easily harmed}, and the flock and cattle nursing are in my care; if they are pressed hard for even one day, then the entire flock will die.”
13. Dynamic Translation
And he said to him, “My lord, you know that the children {hayeladim: small, dependent} are delicate, and that the flock and cattle suckling their young remain with me. If they are driven too hard {udefaqum: overforced, overdriven} for a single day, then the whole flock will die.”
