Genesis 47:20:1וַיִּ֨קֶןvayiken{And} bought

20. Formal Translation
Joseph acquired all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, because the Egyptians, each man, sold his field, for the famine pressed hard upon them; thus the land became Pharaoh’s.
20. Dynamic Translation
Joseph bought up every tract of land in Egypt for Pharaoh. The Egyptians, every man, sold his field because the famine was so severe, and in the end the land belonged to Pharaoh.
