Habakkuk 2:6:1הֲלוֹא־אֵ֣לֶּהhaloelehwill not these
Habakkuk 2:6:2כֻלָּ֗םkhulamall of them Habakkuk 2:6:3עָלָיו֙alavagainst him Habakkuk 2:6:4מָשָׁ֣לmashala proverb or taunt-song Habakkuk 2:6:5יִשָּׂ֔אוּyissauthey will lift up or take up Habakkuk 2:6:6וּמְלִיצָ֖הumelitsaand a mocking saying Habakkuk 2:6:7חִיד֣וֹתkhidotriddles Habakkuk 2:6:8ל֑וֹlofor him or about him Habakkuk 2:6:9וְיֹאמַ֗רveyomarand he will say Habakkuk 2:6:10ה֚וֹיhoywoe Habakkuk 2:6:11הַמַּרְבֶּ֣הhammarbehthe one increasing or heaping up Habakkuk 2:6:12לֹּא־ל֔וֹlolonot his Habakkuk 2:6:13עַד־מָתַ֕יadmataiuntil when Habakkuk 2:6:14וּמַכְבִּ֥ידumakhbidand making heavy or loading Habakkuk 2:6:15עָלָ֖יוalavupon himself Habakkuk 2:6:16עַבְטִֽיט׃avteetpledges or debt-pledge
6. Formal Translation
Surely will not all these take up a proverb against him, and a mocking riddle for him, and say, “Woe to him who amasses what is not his—how long?—and who loads himself with pledges!”
6. Dynamic Translation
Certainly, all of them will make up a taunt against him, with riddles for him, and say, “Trouble to the one who piles up what is not his—how much longer?—and who burdens himself with debts!”
