Habakkuk 3:16:1שָׁמַ֣עְתִּיshamatiI heard
Habakkuk 3:16:2וַתִּרְגַּ֣זvatirgazand it trembled Habakkuk 3:16:3בִּטְנִ֗יbitnimy belly or my body Habakkuk 3:16:4לְקוֹל֙lekolat the sound of Habakkuk 3:16:5צָלֲל֣וּtsalaluthey quivered Habakkuk 3:16:6שְׂפָתַ֔יsefataimy lips Habakkuk 3:16:7יָב֥וֹאyavoit will come Habakkuk 3:16:8רָקָ֛בrakavrottenness Habakkuk 3:16:9בַּעֲצָמַ֖יbaatsamaiin my bones Habakkuk 3:16:10וְתַחְתַּ֣יvetakhtaiand under me Habakkuk 3:16:11אֶרְגָּ֑זeregazI tremble Habakkuk 3:16:12אֲשֶׁ֤רasherthat Habakkuk 3:16:13אָנ֙וּחַ֙anuakhI may rest Habakkuk 3:16:14לְי֣וֹםleyomfor the day of Habakkuk 3:16:15צָרָ֔הtsaratrouble or distress Habakkuk 3:16:16לַעֲל֖וֹתlaalotto come up Habakkuk 3:16:17לְעַ֥םleamagainst a people Habakkuk 3:16:18יְגוּדֶֽנּוּ׃yegudenuhe will invade him or it will attack him
16. Formal Translation
I heard, and my belly trembled; at the sound my lips quivered. Decay entered my bones, and beneath me I tremble; yet I will rest on the day of distress when it comes upon the people who invade us.
16. Dynamic Translation
When I heard this, my whole body shook; my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and I trembled where I stood, yet I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon the people who attack us.
