9. Formal Translation You turned toward abundance, yet behold, it yielded only a little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the LORD of hosts {Yahweh tsevaot, Commander of Armies}. Because My house stands in ruin, and you each run to your own house. |
9. Dynamic Translation You expected a great yield, but look, it turned out to be only a little. When you brought it home, I blew it away. Why is that? says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh tsevaot, Divine Warrior}. Because my temple is in ruins, while each of you rushes off to your own house. |
