17. Formal Translation Therefore God {Theos, Faithful Guarantor}, desiring more abundantly to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, guaranteed it with an oath. |
17. Dynamic Translation So God {Theos, Unchanging Promise-Maker} wanted the heirs of the promise to see beyond doubt that His plan does not change, and He backed it up by an oath. |
