5. Formal Translation The inhabitants of Samaria will tremble for the calves of Beth-aven; its people will mourn over it, and so will its priests—those who rejoiced over it, over its glory—because it has been taken away from them. |
5. Dynamic Translation Samaria’s inhabitants will be afraid because of the calves of Beth-aven; the people will grieve over it, and its priests will grieve too—those who once celebrated its splendor—because it has been carried off from them. |
