5. Formal Translation
The inhabitants of Samaria will tremble for the calves of Beth-aven; its people will mourn over it, and so will its priests—those who rejoiced over it, over its glory—because it has been taken away from them.
5. Dynamic Translation
Samaria’s inhabitants will be afraid because of the calves of Beth-aven; the people will grieve over it, and its priests will grieve too—those who once celebrated its splendor—because it has been carried off from them.
