8. Formal Translation And the high places of Aven will be destroyed. Thorn and thistle will grow up upon their altars. And they will say to the mountains, "Cover us," and to the hills, "Fall on us." |
8. Dynamic Translation The pagan shrines of Aven that embody Israel’s sin will be wiped out. Thorns and thistles will overrun their altars. Then people will cry out to the mountains, "Hide us!" and to the hills, "Fall on us!" |
