10. Formal Translation
Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first-ripe fruit on the fig tree at its beginning, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and they became abominations like what they loved.
10. Dynamic Translation
I discovered Israel as delightful as wild grapes in the desert. I regarded your ancestors like early figs on a fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal-peor and gave themselves to disgrace, so they became as detestable as the thing they cherished.
