4. Formal Translation
Be ashamed, Sidon, for the sea, the stronghold of the sea, has spoken, saying, “I have not travailed, nor have I given birth, nor have I raised young men, nor have I brought up virgins.”
4. Dynamic Translation
Feel shame, Sidon, for the sea fortress has declared, “I have neither endured labor nor given birth; I have neither reared young men nor brought up maidens.”
