Formal Translation For thus says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Commander of Armies} and the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, Covenant Guardian}: Look, I am about to stop in this place—before your eyes and during your days—the voice of joy, the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. |

Dynamic Translation This is what the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Divine Warrior}—the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, National Protector}—declares: Right here, while you are watching and while you still live, I will silence the sounds of mirth and delight, including the voices of the groom and the bride. |
