| 3. Formal Translation And you shall say, “Hear the word of the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Commander}, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Divine Warrior}, the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, Covenant Protector}: Behold, I am bringing disaster upon this place so that everyone who hears about it—his ears will tingle.” |
| 3. Dynamic Translation You are to say, “Listen to the message from the LORD {Yahweh, Ruling Authority}, kings of Judah and people living in Jerusalem. This is what the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Commander of Armies}, the God of Israel {Elohei Yisrael, National Defender} declares: I am about to bring such trouble upon this place that anyone who hears of it—his ears will ring with shock.” |
