19. Formal Translation Your wickedness will discipline you, and your apostasies will reprove you. Know, therefore, and see that it is evil and bitter that you have forsaken the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikh, Covenant Guardian} and that my fear is not in you, declares the Lord GOD of hosts {Adonai Yahweh Tsevaot, Supreme Commander}. |
19. Dynamic Translation Your own evil will punish you, and your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider, then, how evil and bitter it is to abandon the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikh, Relationship Source} and to have no awe of me, says the Lord GOD of hosts {Adonai Yahweh Tsevaot, Divine Ruler}. |
