Jeremiah 2:27:1אֹמְרִ֨יםomerimsaying
Jeremiah 2:27:2לָעֵ֜ץlaetsto a tree Jeremiah 2:27:3אָ֣בִיavimy father Jeremiah 2:27:4אַ֗תָּהatayou Jeremiah 2:27:5וְלָאֶ֙בֶן֙velaevenand to a stone Jeremiah 2:27:6אַ֣תְּatyou Jeremiah 2:27:7ילדתניyaladtaniyou bore me Jeremiah 2:27:8יְלִדְתָּ֔נוּyelidtanuyou bore us Jeremiah 2:27:9כִּֽי־פָנ֥וּkifanufor they have turned Jeremiah 2:27:10אֵלַ֛יelaito me Jeremiah 2:27:11עֹ֖רֶףorefa back of the neck Jeremiah 2:27:12וְלֹ֣אveloand not Jeremiah 2:27:13פָנִ֑יםfanimface Jeremiah 2:27:14וּבְעֵ֤תuveetand in a time of Jeremiah 2:27:15רָֽעָתָם֙raatamtheir calamity Jeremiah 2:27:16יֹֽאמְר֔וּyomeruthey will say Jeremiah 2:27:17ק֖וּמָהkumaarise Jeremiah 2:27:18וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנוּ׃vehoshienuand save us
27. Formal Translation
They say to the tree, “You are my father,” and to the stone, “You gave birth to us.” For they have turned their back to Me {Yahweh, Faithful Redeemer} and not their face. Yet in the time of their trouble, they will say, “Arise and save us!”
27. Dynamic Translation
They declare to a tree, “You are my father,” and to a stone, “You brought us into being.” But they have turned their backs to Me {Yahweh, Ever-Present Helper}, not their faces. Still, when trouble comes, they cry out, “Rise up and rescue us!”
