Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Jeremiah 4:9:1 ⧉וְהָיָ֤הvehayaand it shall be Jeremiah 4:9:2 ⧉בַיּוֹם־הַהוּא֙vayomhahuin the day-that Jeremiah 4:9:3 ⧉נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔הneumyahwehutterance of the LORD Jeremiah 4:9:4 ⧉יֹאבַ֥דyovahdshall perish Jeremiah 4:9:5 ⧉לֵב־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְlevhamelekhheart of the king Jeremiah 4:9:6 ⧉וְלֵ֣בvelevand heart of Jeremiah 4:9:7 ⧉הַשָּׂרִ֑יםhasarimthe officials Jeremiah 4:9:8 ⧉וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙venashamuand they shall be appalled Jeremiah 4:9:9 ⧉הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔יםhakohanimthe priests Jeremiah 4:9:10 ⧉וְהַנְּבִיאִ֖יםvehanneviimand the prophets Jeremiah 4:9:11 ⧉יִתְמָֽהוּ׃yitmahuthey shall be astounded |
9. Formal Translation And it will be on that day, declares the LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Judge}, the heart of the king will perish, and the heart of the princes; the priests will be appalled, and the prophets will be astonished. |
9. Dynamic Translation On that day the LORD {Yahweh, Announcer of Judgment} says, the king’s resolve will vanish, and the officials’ resolve too; the priests will be stunned, and the prophets will be left speechless. |
