Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Job 1:12:1 ⧉וַיֹּ֨אמֶרvayomerand he said Job 1:12:2 ⧉יְהוָ֜הyahwehthe LORD Job 1:12:3 ⧉אֶל־הַשָּׂטָ֗ןelhasatanto the Satan or the accuser Job 1:12:4 ⧉הִנֵּ֤הhinebehold Job 1:12:5 ⧉כָל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֙kholasherloall that is to him or that he has Job 1:12:6 ⧉בְּיָדֶ֔ךָbeyadekhain your hand Job 1:12:7 ⧉רַ֣קrakonly Job 1:12:8 ⧉אֵלָ֔יוelavto him or against him Job 1:12:9 ⧉אַל־תִּשְׁלַ֖חaltishlakhdo not send forth or do not stretch out Job 1:12:10 ⧉יָדֶ֑ךָyadekhayour hand Job 1:12:11 ⧉וַיֵּצֵא֙vayetseand he went out Job 1:12:12 ⧉הַשָּׂטָ֔ןhasatanthe Satan or the accuser Job 1:12:13 ⧉מֵעִ֖םmeimfrom with Job 1:12:14 ⧉פְּנֵ֥יpenethe face of or the presence of Job 1:12:15 ⧉יְהוָֽה׃yahwehthe LORD |
12. Formal Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Judge} said to the adversary, “Behold, everything that is his is in your hand; only, against him do not stretch out your hand.” Then the adversary went out from the presence of the LORD. |
12. Dynamic Translation Then the LORD {Yahweh, Restraining King} said to the accuser, “Look, all he has is under your authority, but you must not lay a hand on him.” So the accuser went out from the presence of the LORD. |
