Job 7:4:1אִם־שָׁכַ֗בְתִּיimshakhavteif I have lain down
Job 7:4:2וְאָמַ֗רְתִּיveamarteand I said Job 7:4:3מָתַ֣יmataiwhen Job 7:4:4אָ֭קוּםakumshall I arise Job 7:4:5וּמִדַּד־עָ֑רֶבumiddaderevand the measure of evening Job 7:4:6וְשָׂבַ֖עְתִּיvesavatteand I was sated Job 7:4:7נְדֻדִ֣יםnedudimof tossings Job 7:4:8עֲדֵי־נָֽשֶׁף׃adenashefuntil twilight or dawn
4. Formal Translation
When I lie down, I say, “When will I arise, and when will the evening be over?” Then I am filled with tossings until dawn.
4. Dynamic Translation
When I go to bed, I think, “How long before I get up, when will this night finally end?” The hours drag on as I toss and turn until dawn.
