He claimed the promised Messiah title for himself

He spoke openly and acknowledged the truth

Speak plainly about who you are and avoid claiming more than is true

Leave people guessing so you can avoid awkwardness

Emphasize your importance so others take you seriously

Use vague language so you never have to be accountable

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I stop pretending and come to you honestly. I admit that I have sinned and that I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and confess you as Lord. Lead me in your truth from this day on. Amen.

Come to Jesus in Truth

Father, revive your Church to speak plainly about Jesus and never deny him by fear, pride, or silence. Make us humble, honest witnesses who refuse false claims and point to Christ with clarity and courage. Awaken us again to truthfulness and boldness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Church That Confesses Christ

Father, forgive me for every time I have exaggerated, hidden, or tried to sound like more than I am. Teach me to confess what is true, to stop defending my image, and to live with humble honesty before you and others. Cleanse my heart and make my words simple and true, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Forgive My Pretending

Name one place where you feel pressure to overstate, hide, or be vague. Ask God for one clear sentence that tells the truth with humility, then ask for courage to say it kindly and without fear.

Pray for Plain Speech

Give thanks for: people who speak honestly without boasting; moments when God keeps you from pretending; the freedom that comes from not having to claim a title you have not been given.

Thanks for Truthful Witness

Pray for: leaders, students, and workers tempted to inflate themselves; friends who fear being overlooked; and a community where humility and truth are honored more than image.
