Exegesis

The main assertion is expressed with the imperfect indicative in a conditional construction: Ouk eiches exousian kat’ emou oudemian {Οὐκ εἶχες ἐξουσίαν κατʼ ἐμοῦ οὐδεμίαν | Ouk eî-khes ex-ou-sí-an kat’ e-mou ou-de-mí-an}.
