If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from every way I have resisted your rule. I believe you were handed over and crucified for me, and that you rose again. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life, forgive me, and make me yours. Amen.

Receive the One Given Over for Us

Lord, revive your Church at the sight of your Son who was handed over and led away for us. Break our self-protection, soften our hearts, and teach us to stand with the rejected, the suffering, and the unseen. Make us a people who carry the cross-shaped love of Jesus into the world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your Church at the Cross

Father, for anyone who feels handed over, overlooked, or dragged into suffering, draw near with your comfort. Give them strength to endure, people who will stand beside them, and hope that you have not forgotten them, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For the Hurt and Rejected

Pray for: people who are being passed over, blamed, or mistreated; courage for believers to defend the vulnerable; and mercy to replace cruelty wherever power is used badly.

For Those Treated Unjustly

Begin by naming one place where you have been tempted to stay silent about injustice. Ask God for a soft heart, a brave voice, and a steady willingness to stand beside the person who is being hurt.

Lord, thank you that you did not turn away from the path of the cross. Thank you for loving us enough to be handed over and to go where we could not save ourselves. Teach me to receive that gift with reverence, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
