So the group can see that there is no real charge against him

So they can decide his sentence after hearing him

So he can force a confession before speaking

So the hearing can be postponed to another day

Say only what you know is true and avoid piling on blame

Repeat the accusation until others stop questioning it

Wait for a crowd consensus before saying anything

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and need your mercy. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose again. You were wrongly accused, yet you are without fault, and I believe you are Lord. Come into my life, forgive me, and lead me in your truth. Amen.

Receive the Innocent Savior

Lord, revive your Church to love truth, speak fairly, and refuse the pressure to join a false accusation. Give us courage to name what is right, mercy toward the misunderstood, and patience when justice is slow, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Brave for Truth

Bring these to God: gratitude for moments when truth is spoken plainly; thanks for people who refuse to add to blame; praise for God’s love of justice and honesty.

Thanksgiving for Clear Judgment

Father, give me courage to speak truth without harshness, and restraint when I am tempted to repeat what is not proven. Help me protect the truth and the person who is being judged, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Me Speak Fairly

Pray by naming one time you repeated a charge too quickly, confess the harm that can come from careless speech, ask God to make you careful and fair, and ask for grace to repair what you can.

Repent of Careless Accusation

Pray for: someone who is being misrepresented; leaders and friends who need wisdom to judge carefully; places where rumors are louder than facts, that God would bring clarity, restraint, and peace.
