The final coordinating kai {καὶ | kaí} links the title to the rebuke: kai tauta ou ginoskeis {καὶ ταῦτα οὐ γινώσκεις | kaí taû-ta ou gi-nṓ-skeis} ‘and these things you do not know.’ Here tauta is fronted for emphasis, and the present tense of ginoskeis portrays an ongoing deficiency in comprehension rather than a momentary lapse. The whole sentence works as a rhetorical question that exposes the irony of a recognized instructor lacking grasp of the very matters under discussion.
